The Nonprofit Manager Transition Lab

Lead the work without losing yourself

A 9-week, cohort-based leadership program for nonprofit professionals stepping into management

You care deeply about the work. Now you are responsible for leading it.

Stepping into management means holding both people and outcomes with care. It means balancing direction and empathy, accountability and support. It is a transition that rarely comes with formal training, yet carries significant responsibility.

The Nonprofit Manager Transition Lab is a 9-week virtual cohort experience created to bridge this gap. Through live learning, coaching, and guided reflection, participants build practical management skills they can apply immediately while developing habits that support long-term growth.

The Transition Lab Experience

Five live learning sessions. Two personalized coaching conversations. Guided reflection between sessions. Together, these experiences help participants build confidence, strengthen practical management skills, and develop habits that support long-term leadership growth.

Throughout the program, participants explore how to:

  • Make the transition from individual contributor to manager

  • Create clarity, alignment, and accountability

  • Build trust and develop high-performing teams

  • Navigate difficult conversations and challenging situations

  • Lead themselves with intention and sustain their effectiveness over time

Every session combines practical frameworks with opportunities to reflect on real workplace challenges, apply new approaches immediately, and receive feedback from peers and facilitators.

Why This Program?

Built for the realities of nonprofit management. Every part of the Nonprofit Manager Transition Lab is designed to help you apply what you're learning to the real leadership challenges you're facing today.

  • Nonprofit-focused: Learn alongside peers navigating similar leadership challenges

  • Personalized coaching: Apply the content to your own team, challenges, and goals

  • Immediately applicable: Leave each session with practical tools and action steps you can use right away.

  • Experienced facilitators: Benefit from leaders with experience building teams and supporting organizations across the nonprofit and private sectors

  • “This program provided a space to critically examine my management habits through a new lens and helped me intentionally level up. The unique program design meets each manager's unique challenges and tendencies while also offering broader approaches and strategies for experimentation. Eva and Madeleine are thoughtful trainers and coaches who are deeply invested in participants' success and bring a wealth of resources and insights to support ongoing managerial growth.”

  • "This cohort-based peer learning program, combined with the embedded coaching sessions, took my learning to a different level. The topics were highly relevant and immediately applicable to the challenges I was navigating in my role. What stood out most was how practical the content felt. It was almost as if the facilitators had been working alongside me. They understood the real challenges of managing people, leading teams, and navigating organizational change. The discussions and coaching helped me realize that many of the challenges I was experiencing weren't unique to my workplace, which made me feel supported and validated. The combination of learning from peers, reflecting on real-world situations, and receiving thoughtful coaching created a meaningful professional development experience. I left each session with practical strategies that I could apply right away and a stronger sense of confidence in my leadership. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to grow as a manager and leader."
